Every round follows the same path. Knowing it tells you exactly when you can back, when your XP is locked, and when you get paid.

The five stages

1

Backing open

The round has been published with its lineup and its length. Anyone can back a single trader or multiple traders they believe will come out on top.Your move: research the traders, check the multipliers, then place your back.
2

Backing closed

Shortly before the race starts, backing shuts. No new backs, no top ups, no cancellations. This happens before any trader’s starting position is recorded, so nobody can back on a race they have already seen the start of.Your move: none. Your stake is set.
3

Racing

The traders trade. You watch it happen live.Your move: watching. Nothing you do now changes your position.
4

Result

At the end time, each trader’s final numbers are recorded and the winner is worked out.See How the winner is decided.
5

Paid out

The pool is shared out and the XP lands in your balance. There is no claim button.See How payouts are calculated.

What you see during a race

For every trader in the round, Incept shows you: Only positions and trades inside the race window count. A position the trader already held when the race began is treated as opening at that moment, at the price at that moment. See How the winner is decided. Everything you are watching is saved. It becomes part of that trader’s public track record, which is the same record you use to research it before a future race.
